For some strange reason, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper’s video endorsement of Amendment 59, the Savings Account For Education (SAFE) measure, includes a mocking spoof of Sarah Palin bickering with a white-haired heavy-set guy that looks like John Madden (ie. NOT Obama or Biden).
Was this a good move if they are trying to convince people of all political persuasions to support their measure? Could it upset some McCain/Palin supporters? After all, they’re going to need SOME non-Democrats to vote for 59.
Mayor Hickenlooper’s Amendment 59 ad from Amendment 59 on Vimeo.
Sure, this may not be going on TV and is just a video endorsement to be shared with likely supporters. But for some reason they decided Hick’s voice wasn’t good enough and opted to mock Sarah Palin, as well. Why?
For the record, I support Amendment 59 and oppose Sarah Palin for high school teacher, let alone vice president. But this seemed like a needless poke at Palin that could cause more harm than good.
Does this mark a new day of the attack-endorsement?
I also find it hysterical that they have Hick dressed up like Mr. Rogers to fit in with the preschool-classroom theme of the campaign’s Web site.

Why offend Republicans?
Then again, with all the bickering that now seems to be going on between Palin’s and McCain’s camps about who’s responsible for the team’s poor showing, maybe that white-haired guy WAS supposed to be McCain.
